Moyes Out
Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore.
I'm fed up, we can do much better

I'm looking forward to Moyes going so we can go back to celebrating our cup win, rather than down playing it because we hate the manager.

When wd refers to the Moyes Golden Years is her referring to the Age of the squad... like the Golden Girls...

Moyes - The Divisive Years
Moyes - The continually harping on about 3 years in a row in Europe Years
Moyes - The "Winning's what I do" years
Moyes - The "be careful what you wish for years"
Moyes - The tinpot trophy years

Re: Moyes Out
PAV BML - Good post.

Moyes does get good treatment by the media.

I mean, look at the stick Ten Haag is getting. FA Cup final and he gets asked "Was that an embarrassing what to get to a final?". Man Utd going for Europa League qualification and he gets told "Not good enough". But that's because its Man Utd.

So basically, much of the media backlash to us fans criticism of Moyes is based upon "Who do you think you are". It's an arrogant and lazy stereotype based on old traditions of who the big clubs are and everyone else, hold your place.

In the media, Moyes has gone from being our saviour to in more recent weeks a "safe pair of hands". Rarely is he called out for what he is. And its the safe pair of hands label that really riles me at the moment

Even Moyes supporters concede that his approach is, at best, pragmatic, others even concede that his approach is, at worst, anti-football. But they argue that he is hard to beat and gets results.... A safe pair of hands.

Well, the issue for me is that the "hard to beat" argument doesn't exist anymore. We have been beaten by conceding four goals or more a total six times this season. In the Premier League we have conceded a total of 65 goals - The highest goals against total out of all the teams apart from three - The bottom three of Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd.

As for getting results, another flawed argument. In 2024 we have won just 4 games from 22. It's a win rate of 18%. We have lost 9 and draw 9. A loss rate of 41%. We have people saying that a manager that loses 41% of his matches in charge is a man that 'gets results'.

Since January we have been knocked out of the League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League all in rather soft and uncommitted fashion (despite a better 2nd home leg against Leverkusen). And we have slipped from 6th on 33 points to 8th on 49 points, amassing just 16 points in the calendar year. And looking very likely that we will end up 11th if teams below us nick points from their games in hand.

And this, all from a man that hides behind this facade of a stable, solid and defensive minded coach that gets results.

Quite frankly its a joke how this man has any support from anyone.

That was a great idea wd40. I'll add:

Moyes - the boring years
Moyes - the defensive years
Moyes - the no squad years
Moyes - the Gollum years

Anyone else?

Re: Moyes Out
Moyes is looked after in the media in a way that only British managers seem to be. Looks at the questions Ten Haag gets in comparison. He was asked if it was embarrassing making an FA cup final in the way that they did. Albeit the guy is a delusional fraud but he gets laid into by the media. Would Moyes ever be asked the same? I know it's a big difference in size of club and expectation levels but people seem to think we should be gushing over finishing anywhere above 12th. Moyes has done a good job steadying the ship and the European runs but it's been a steady decline in terms of the level of football. He stumbled upon a great counter attacking system that worked and then systematically brought in players that were far too slow for that system (Haller, Scamacca, Benhrama, Ings). We are now in the position that despite 450 million odd being spent, our manager only rates 12 players, in a defensive system relying on individual magic. Looking forward to a fresh start but can't say I'm too excited by the prospect of Lopetegui

Re: Moyes Out
Yeah i do find it amazing how many many pundits spout out the 'be careful what you wish for' bollocks yet he never ever gets mentioned by them as a potential Howe replacement?

Or even teams below us like Brighton and Chelsea who have been rumoured to be needing new managers in the summer

Re: Moyes Out
wd40 should be delighted this morning reading that the manager he supports might get a move to Spartak Moscow in the summer.

That's where all his good work at ours has got him.

Shouldn't you be more excited about where the club go under a better manager?

Or are you more concerned about David Moyes than you are about West Ham United? Because that's certainly the impression you give off.

The knicker wetters don't like anyone having an opinion different to theirs.

What did you do when I made this thread two years ago? You seemed to having big troubles with me having a different opinion then.

OMFG twocuntflaps

You literally said yourself that you hated Allardayce and that you use to walk the dog on match days.

What a moronic post, maybe this season worst. And that takes some doing considering joy and nuts contributions
